TEACHING ARTISTS

Tanya Everett is a Massachusetts born, Brooklyn-bred actor and writer.  As an actor, she has worked with notable directors including Russell G. Jones, Carl Cofield, Charles Weldon, Christopher McElron, and Oscar nominee Josh Fox. She has appeared in several indie films, such as the “Boys Like You” and “Subways.” She also pops up in commercials for Payless and Chevron. Her plays have been performed all over New York. Her play "Pr$de" was recently performed as part of the 7th Season of the Fire This Time Festival and received positive write-ups in the Village Voice and Broadway Black. Her other plays “Doesn’t Matter How You Say It (No Importa Como Lo Dice)” and “Burst of Light” have received several development readings. She is a company member of NY Madness. When she is neither acting nor writing, Tanya enjoys homemade food, travel to places with beaches,  live performances, and communing with artistic spirits!
