Libby Mislan is a poet and community-engaged artist in Queens, New York. Inspired by the intersections between poetry, music, dance and visual art, she’s collaborated extensively with dancers, musicians and graphic artists to create multidisciplinary works. She recently graduated with her MFA in writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts, where she studied hybrid dance-poetry forms and poetry as body wisdom. She is a firm believer in the power of the arts as a vehicle for collective transformation, and in addition to her own creative process, she designs projects to engage communities in creative expression. Through developing research-inspired work, centralizing the role of community in the artistic process, and working between forms, Libby wishes to develop and push the boundaries of the poetic experience.
