Sam Tortora, Managing Director, is Global Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Sustainability for BlackRock. She is responsible for developing BlackRock’s corporate external strategic messaging and managing relationships with the investment community, including institutional shareholders of BlackRock stock, prospective investors, research analysts and asset stewardship officers. Her goal is to ensure shareholders understand BlackRock’s strategy and framework for delivering long-term value.

In her role in Corporate Sustainability, Sam is establishing and overseeing a cohesive vision, strategy and corporate disclosure framework for how BlackRock integrates sustainability into its strategy and business operations. This includes establishing links between how certain environmental, social and governance efforts impact the long-term sustainability and value of BlackRock for stakeholders, including employees, clients, shareholders and the communities where BlackRock operates.

Prior to moving to her current role in 2019, Samantha spent 8 years on BlackRock's Investor Relations team, including her role as Deputy Head of Investor Relations. She began her career at BlackRock in 2009 as an investment strategist on the Scientific Active Equity team.

Samantha earned a BS degree in Applied Mathematics and a concentration in Operations Research from Columbia University's School of Engineering and Applied Science in 2009.
